Are your products safety tested or approved?

- Every TALLOWÉ balm is assessed & certified under UK cosmetic regulations.

- This means each product is assessed by a qualified safety professional to ensure it is safe for use before it’s ever sold.

- Many sellers skip this legal step - but at TALLOWÉ, we believe in doing things properly, even when no one’s watching.

- Because your safety is never optional!

What makes TALLOWÉ
different from other tallow balms?

A cream-colored jar labeled 'Tallowe' placed on a beige cloth, surrounded by a daisy flower, green leaves, and purple lavender sprigs with a small glass bottle of oil in the background. The jar has a label that reads 'Small Batch, No Fillers, 100% Integrity.'

- At TALLOWÉ, we stay true to the ancestral wisdom of
whole-ingredient skincare.

- We slow render our tallow to purify and deodorise, a process which lasts up to three days which includes a five-phase filtration process.

- We use only pure halal, grass-fed suet tallow, rendered with care and blended in small batches using therapeutic-grade botanicals.

- Our process is slow, intentional, and respectful, with no preservatives, fillers, or synthetic ingredients.

Why don’t you whip your tallow like everyone else?

A frosted glass jar labeled 'TALLOWÉ' containing a white creamy substance, next to a smaller clear jar filled with a similar white, whipped or mashed substance, on a beige surface.

- Because we’re not here to make mousse, we’re here to make premium grade skincare!

- Whipping tallow might look nice, but it disrupts the lipid matrix, the very structure that makes tallow so biologically compatible with human skin.

- That matrix is made up of fatty acids, triglycerides, and fat-soluble vitamins in their natural ratio. When you whip it, you break that structure apart, introduce air, and accelerate oxidation - reducing shelf life and weakening performance.

- At TALLOWÉ, we leave our tallow unwhipped and intact to preserve its full molecular integrity. The result? A denser, more stable balm that melts on contact, penetrates deeply, and supports your skin’s barrier the way nature intended.

- We don’t follow trends. We follow function.

Is it normal for my skin to react at first?

- Some people experience an adjustment phase when trying a new balm.

- This can look like mild breakouts or changes in skin texture as your skin adapts to new oils and nutrients.

- This phase is usually temporary and settles within a couple of weeks.

- It’s important to distinguish this from a sensitivity reaction:

Adjustment phase: mild spots or bumps, usually in areas you already tend to break out, that clear with continued use.

Sensitivity: redness, burning, stinging, or rashes that appear outside your normal breakout areas.

- If you notice sensitivity, discontinue use.

- We always recommend a patch test before first use, especially if you have sensitive skin.

What is tallow and why do you use it in your skincare?

A glass bottle of olive oil next to a pile of mashed potatoes on a brown surface.

- Tallow is rendered from halal, grass-fed suet, the purest fat surrounding the kidneys.

- Rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, and fatty acids that closely resemble human sebum, it nourishes deeply and supports skin barrier function.

- It’s an ancient, effective, and bioavailable ingredient, pure, traditional, and elegant in its simplicity.

Is tallow safe to use on skin?

A person’s hand applying Tallowe cream or lotion, with a jar labeled 'Tallowe' nearby, a white daisy flower, and a card that says 'Patch Test First' on a beige fabric surface.

- Tallow is incredibly skin-compatible and helps soothe dryness, flaking, and irritation.

- Many of our customers find it helpful for very dry or reactive skin.

- Always perform a patch test before use and consult a healthcare professional if you have a pre-existing skin condition.

Is TALLOWÉ Halal?

A candle labeled 'Tallowé' set on a table with a sign reading 'Halal Sourced' beside it, with a blurred outdoor scene of cows grazing in a field during sunset in the background.

- While not always halal-certified, we use only halal, grass-fed suet sourced with integrity.

- Our suppliers follow halal slaughter practices, some may have certification whilst others may not and we take care to source from animals raised humanely on pasture wherever possible.

- The modern halal certification process typically verifies that the animal was slaughtered to minimal requirements, but does not always guarantee how the animal was raised.

- At TALLOWÉ, we go beyond simply seeking certification, sourcing only from animals raised ethically on pasture, in alignment with our values of responsibility and reverence.

Can I use this on babies or during pregnancy?

A frosted glass jar labeled "TALLOWE" filled with a creamy white substance, placed on a white cloth with daisies, a baby brush, and a teething ring nearby. In the background, there is a wooden baby bassinet with a white cloth hanging over it.

- While our balms are made with minimal, skin friendly ingredients, we do not recommend use on children under 3 years of age.

- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult your healthcare provider before use.

- Our Mother & Baby range (coming soon) will be formulated specifically to meet the extra-gentle standards expected for both mother & child.

How should I store my balm?

A lit candle labeled 'TALLOWÉ' on a wooden shelf, with a note card reading 'Store in a cool, dry place', and a bundle of dried lavender in the background.

- Keep your balm in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

- Refrigeration is optional and can prolong shelf life. However this will harden the balm.

What is the shelf life?

- The expiry date of each balm can be found at the base of the jar.

- Shelf life post manufacture is at least 30 months.

- Period After Opening (PAO) is 12 months

- Balms are made fresh to order on a weekly basis.

Are your products vegan or cruelty-free?

A jar of Tallowé cruelty-free, ethically sourced product placed on a wooden table with a daisy flower on a cloth, outdoors with a cow grazing in the background.

- Our balms are not vegan due to the inclusion of suet.

- However, we are firmly cruelty-free!

- We never test on animals and only work with suppliers who uphold the same standard.

- All ingredients are ethically and respectfully sourced.

Will it feel greasy?
